Day 8 - Starting off Week 2 - Woohoo.
Saturday of Week 2. When I started this 30 Day challenge a week ago (well a week and 1 day ago), I did so on a Saturday -- which I think worked better for me than starting on a Monday would have been. I didn't take the "last weekend of liberty" to shovel in as much food and sloth as I could before beginning anew on a Monday. Besides, if I had, then I would have been faced with starting this challenge on the first day of the week, when the kids had a 2-hour delay for starting school. That would have been enough to throw my whole plan outta whack. So again, when the weekend is here, I am comfortable in my routine, and am even using our habitual weekend activities to work within it -- like bringing healthy snacks to the basketball games, and filling up on water and better choices before heading out to our usual dinner out.
Breakfast
Whole Wheat English Muffin
1 slice turkey bacon
Water
Coffee with Skim Milk (back to the old standby - my waist, and my stomach thanked me for not repeating the White Mocha Catastrophe of yesterday)
Snack 1 (Lunch? Saving calories for later)
Handful Pretzels
Water
Snack 2 (Snack? Still saving...)
Handful Dark Chocolate-covered peanuts (I know this wasn't the BEST choice, but we had waited over an hour for two haircuts, and by the time my handsome boys had been coiffed, we were all hungry for a little tide-me-over before dinner. Really, this was a much better choice than anything else in the CVS aisles... and the kids came out with either Potato Chips, Doritos or Reses Pieces. Did I convince you??)
Dinner
Grilled Chicken Sandwich (no bun) with lettuce, tomato, onion and avocado
1/2 cup sweet potato fries (it's Saturday!! I want to lose weight, but I also want to live a little! A very healthy outlook if you ask me. Plus, better than regular potato fries.)
Glass Fume Blanc
Nightly Drink
2 Tequila Sunrises (Because there was tequila left over from last night's Mexican dinner. And also, because I needed something to get me through Field of Dreams for the 15th time. Sorry -- not my favorite! But I watch because it IS someone's)

The Will Power Moment of My Day
Faced with the dinner menu of tasty, high-fat choices like Nachos, Humongous Cheese Burgers and Creamy Dips, I ordered the grilled chicken plate, and munched on a few beer nuts instead of giving in to the nacho proposal. (Strangely, given by the White Chocolate Mocha proposal guy, too.... ) ~~~~
